I would like some input on the 2001 Tiburon. I'm new to Hyundai and don't know if they just have some poor engineering issues or what. I've had alot of people tell me they aren't good cars. Can someone please clarify.

Thanks.

I bought a 2001 Tiburon 5 speed with 51K about a month or so ago, almost site unseen. It seems very solid and handles, runs, and rides well. The 5yr 60K warranty goes with the car but the 100K power train is only good for the original owner.

The reviews I have read may indicate that Hyundai’s, in general, may not be up to par with some Japanese makes, but are probably equal too or exceed the reliability of many comparable cars from Ford, GM, or Chrysler. Given you should be able to buy a used Tib for thousands less than a comparable Honda or Toyota, it may be a good buy!

My opinion: If the car is in good shape and you can get a good price, go for it!!!

well if they have been looked after they are fairly strong.. obvisoulsy if the mileage has gone over 40k then expect to be wanting to tweak a few things..

only buy one with decent miles. and a history cos wat most imp is the oil change.. and any probs that came along were fixed or atleast the owner can tell u the probs.. if there are any... make sure the oil was changed on time!! everytime!!

i got a 97 coupe recently with 70,000 miles and after hyundai cheked it it had a 145 pound prob with the clutch with got fixed under my warranty.. i feel gear 1 + 2 sometimes get rough so gonna get that **** changed under warranty... :-)

car is strong.. and drives good... i gonna need 2 change the brake discs as they 8 years old and causing squeakin.. but performance wise they strong.......

ul b loving the coupe...
