06 Sonata LX - I do mostly highway driving and I'm getting 22 MPG - I have 10,000 miles on the car now. I have to say I'm extremely disappointed. Any one getting even close to 25 MPG? I'd be happy w/ 25.....

I have 5900 on my new GLS, and getting, as of this week, 25.5 MPG. Last week it was 25.1 and most of my driving is about 85% freeway and 15% city driving. I am quite pleased so far.

with joy!

I drive roughly thirty minutes each way, to work. Probably half of the driving is at 50 or above. Currently, the MPG is 22.x, and the odometer, about 3200. During our first two weeks with the car, on a 160 mile stretch of hilly interstate in Oklahoma, we got 31 mpg. Running at 70 mph, with two adults, two weeks worth of luggage, and the A/C on. All these numbers are relying on the computer, which fairly close.

Wow. Maybe I drive to fast to reap the benefits. I average between 80-85 mph for ~ 40 miles each way to work and I'm lucky if I can hit 23 MPG. I thought I was in the "break in period" and that it would rise but it hasn't. When I first got the car I got ~ 18-19 MPG and I was hoping to hit 25 MPG. In fact I've been purposely accelerating EXTREMELY slow attemting to raise my MPG and still no go.........hmm - I'm using standard 87 octane. I do have the ventguards on the car that came with the appearance package which can increase the drag I guess......but that seems like alot of drag......ideas (besides slowing down - lol)?

My average speed when I am driving the 85% highway is 70 MPH (I use the Cruise Control), and A/C on. I also, use 87 octane in mine. This time of year in Phoenix, the A/C stays on from mid May until the end of Sept.

I am curious to see if it changes once I put the Mobil 1 oil in, and then when I can turn the A/C off.

I have an 2007 Sonata 4 cyl. to save a little extra on gas costs. Last night I filled up a just going from the gas station to my house, about 2 miles I hit 29.8 mpg when I pulled in the driveway. When I brought it home from the dealership one hour away with me, my fiancee, my mom and my dad I was getting around 40 mpg. All i put in it is regular 87 octane gas like the manual says.

I have an '06 LX with the V6 and almost 17,000 miles. City/hwy combined I average 24-25mpg. Strictly hwy at 70mph gets me 29-30. I am quite happy with the mileage and the car overall.

HELLO I HAVE A NEW 07 GOLD I4 SONATA.

I took a trip Ny to MD. I broke it in as they said. The NJturnpike was hairy going under 55. I did a little at 60 and netted 36 MPG on the way home doing 75-80 after 1200 miles it got 29.8 MPG.I had my first oil change at 1K miles in MD at Fitzmall. I hope it gets better as it breaks in more at high speed.
