1996 Accent

I just purchased a 1996 Hyundai Accent for my 18 year old daughter. Trying to put a CD player in and I can't get the cover off? She will use it to go to college and work (Sea World).

Other daughter has a 1990 Escort GT and goes to Asuza Pacific University.

Youngest does not drive yet.

I have a 1998 Mustang GT, 5 speed, 4.10 gears.

Recently installed CD player in Aussie spec Lantra (97) and found that I had to remove the gear knob (manual) then simply lift the gear stick boot from the centre console. It's held in place by sprung friction clips.

I then had access to 2 securing screws;one at the bottom of the fascia console and one located behind the dashboard dimmer control switch.

Hope this gives some insight, otherwise your local stereo shop should be able to advise.
