Hi i'm in the UK and my question relates to a 2004 Hyundia Coupe 1.6 which is the same as a Tiberon in the USA though i'm not certain if the US has a 1.6 version ? (petrol or gas in the UK costs about 4 times what it does in America )

What i would like to know is has anyone had a 1.6 Coupe/Tiburon ECU tuned ?

I would like to tune my car to give better fuel consumption and acceleration by sacrificing top speed ( driving at over 80mph in the UK is likely to result in jail time anyway ).

Is this possible and what kind of improvement should i expect ?

Current figures are ; combined fuel consumption 37mpg...... 0-60 in 11.4 seconds ...... top speed of 115mph

Hello Helen. er well to be honest the gains from chipping your motor dont justify the £300 bill. you would do better to get a 2.0se as they are only a group 10 on the insurance and very economical with the extra power (around 70 miles urban for £20. plus you get all the extas like leather and sunroof etc. hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer i'd given up , anyway i have been looking into the 2litre and it seems theres very little difference in running costs between that and a 1.6 .
My new problem is i hate the front bumper and i cant find a replacement that doesnt lower the front to about 2" from the road (UK has speed bumps everywhere designed to wreck your car if you attempt to drive over them at anything more than 5mph !) i dont suppose you know if the 2006 models front bumper will fit on a 2004 model ?
