Purchased a 2006 Azera LTD on 7/22/06. So far I love it. Originally planned to buy a Sonata, but the Azera is sooo much nicer.
One question.. the passenger side wiper blade, mine will hit the hood if you try to raise it up to clean the window. I thought it was just mis-aligned, but the manual makes mention of this when changing the blade. Does everyone see this same design flaw?

Yes I do. I noticed it yesteday when I washed the car. I just bought the car last week. It only hits on the hood by a less than an inch but theis is a flaw in the design. It really doesn't effect anything excepty cleaning the windshield.

Dissapointed that this got through their QA people, but relieved that mine is not the only one that does it. So far that is the only thing I have found wrong and not well thought out.

Its not the blade by the entire arm. I understand all Azera owners have the same problem. I guess it must be a design flaw.

I have this problem on my '06 Azera too.  This seems to be something they should've caught during Q&A.  I find it hard to believe that 1) It has this problem, and 2) That they haven't found a fix for it.

My 06 also hits the hood but just barely. There is enough "play" or give on the arm so that I can lift it up and raise the entire arm and them fold it up out of the way. Has anyone tried doing this and is there enough room to do so?

Same problem with my 07 Azera.

Remove the rubber plug at the base of the arm, loosen the bolt, pry the arm up to loosen it from the mounting post and raise the blade about 2 inches.  While holding the arm snugly, retighten the bolt.

I now have "just enough" clearance to not hit the hood.

Don't blame this on quality assurance; if they are all being built this way it sounds like a design issue (unless the guy on the line is putting the arm on in the wrong position).

I will try repositioning the wiper on the post, thanks for the idea.

I know now to carefully put pressure on the blade to clear the hood, but I worry about the guys at the car wash joint. (Although taking my car to a car wash is a last resort, like in the middle of winter)
