Hi. My hubby & I both own 2004 Sonata V6s. Shortly after getting mine I started having intermittent problem of a sudden lurch when I am on cruise. The first time it happened at night and I thought I had hit a rabbit, it was that firm and sudden. It doesn't happen all the time and only when on cruise. Have had it in a couple of times, but they can't find anything wrong and can't recreate the problem. Both of our cars had a problem with surging and then dropping back, RPMs would rev to 4+ but speed would stay the same and then drop, it was like driving with someone learing to drive a standard. This occurred at all speeds. They replaced the TPS sensor in both and that fixed the problem for my husband's car, but not mine. They replaced the MAF sensor in mine and that has cleared that problem, but I still get the intermittent lurching when on cruise, sometimes to a lesser strength than originally and sometimes just as strong. Anyone got any ideas? My husband's car has started to do the same thing now.
