Keyless Entry Problems

Hello,

I have a 2002 Hyundai Elantra. Today when I tried to unlock my car the keyless entry that both locks and unlocks the car and activates the alarm wasn’t working. I am completely baffled as to the cause of this. I am also ignorant as to how this mechanism even works. The light on the key chain is flashing, but my car headlights are not flashing and I am not hearing any sounds that indicates power or an attempt to unlock the door. Now this is where my dilemma thickens....I can’t get into my car. The alarm is activated, so if I open the car with the key and not with the button on my key chain the alarm will go off and I would have no clue how to stop it. So any information would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Unlock door, open and get into the car (ignore the alarm), close door, switch ignition non only, wait 30+ seconds or till the alarm stops, THEN WAIT ANOTHER 20 SECONDS, start engine.
After that, go to your Hyundai dealer with both remotes, and have them re-entered into the system.
