my girlfriend has a 99 accent hatch 5 speed. Engine is a 1.5 or 1.6..I think..anyway...the car wont start sometimes, and will also shut off while driving. It starts, sometimes after letting it sit for a while, but theres no rhyme or reason as to why and when it starts and stops. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. we just replaced the cam position sensor and the O2 sensor bout a month ago.....the car turns over so its not the starter.

thanks in advance, Noah.

check engine light is on...all the time. last time we had the car diagnosed and the cam sensor and 02 sensor were bad..replaced...still problems...would the crank position sensor be causing this, and if so what kind of install time and cost am i looking at?

Are you having the car looked at by a good Hyundai dealership that has a 'working' hyscan?

Did you figure this out yet? On my 2000, the MAF sensor is a notorious problem. The original and second one gave me a P1128 code (fuel trim) due to a slight sensor error. The last 2 aftermarkets lost the signal completely, giving me the sypmtoms you have. If this is the case, unplug it. You may want to unhook the battery negative terminal 1st to be safe. It will run better if it was the MAF. I'm guessing it is because the ECM goes into default. Then you'll need to replace the MAF. There are scan tools and/or S/W available to help with these problems.
