Hi all -
I bought a set of Universal Xenon Blue Plasma Foglamps for my 04' Elantra, but before I installed them I wanted to get opinions on different sets to purchase and if anyone knows how to install them. I want to be able to just turn my lights on and have the Fogs come on as well instead of having to turn them on separately. Any diagrams/info. is greatly appreciated!!!!

This may help. It's a guide I put together for installing fog lights. It has directions and schematics and everything and includes a lot of pictures. I have a 2005 which is pretty much identical. Something I recently learned is that in addition to the fog lights mentioned on that page, Hella Optilux Fog Lamps, models 1000 through 1150 can be made to fit exactly in the fog light openings in the bumper fascia with simple, easy-to-make L-shaped aluminum brackets. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. I've done this personally and have worked through the process with several other people on internet forums.

If you don't want a separate switch and will drive them off the headlights, you won't even need to bring any wires into the passenger compartment.

Anyone know where I can tap with a fuse tap and go into the engine compartment thru firewall for the low side relay for aftermarket fog lights...I want the fog lights to go thru ignition switched power supply I using a remote switch for fogs
Also the fuse box in engine compartment contains no ignition switched power

If the Accent is like the Elantra, the main harness runs through the left fender area into the body by the front door hinge.  There is a grommet that goes into the body; you can get a few wires through the grommet if you need to.  It's okay to have the main power for the fog lights be on all the time, as long as the power that controls the relay is switched by the ignition.  There are two independent circuits involved:

The power circuit.  This goes from a fuse box to the battery to the fog lights and is controlled by the switched side of a relay.

The control circuit.  This controls the coil side of the relay; when the coil gets power it turns the relay switch on and the fog light power circuit is turned on.  It goes from another circuit, perhaps from inside the car, and may be powered only when the ignition is ON.  It also should have a switch you can control if you want to switch the lights off or on.  But if this circuit is switched by the ignition switch, it will automatically shut off the lights when you turn the car off.  All the control features (when the lights are on or off) can be controlled by this circuit.

Here is a very simple diagram to illustrate what I mean:


The 12V power on the left side can be on at all times, but it can't get to the fog lights unless the relay switches on.  You can control when the relay switches on with the circuit on the right side.  If the 12V power on that side is switched off by the ignition, it will turn off the fog lights when the car is turned off.

Yes I am good with circuit thanks for explaination
My only concern is to get the ignition switched power from somewhere
In the engine compartment would be perfect but I have been unable to find an ignition switched power source I can tap into since I have a wireless remote switch for these fog lights any suggestions
Also I saw where the wires go throught from driver side fuse box even thought it seems a little hard to get to  I would like to use a fuse tap in that fuse box and go to engine compartment but as I said some thing under the hood would be better
The control lead will be from low side of relay as you described and I usually go with an inline fuse of 3 amps and on the high side of relay power comes direct from battery(+) with 15 amp inline fuse well thats how I did it in my Chevy S-10
And it works great
