Hi I drive a 2002 GSi TD with an auto box just recently it has started vibrating badly while at idle like a fork lift truck ,no sign of black smoke but cigarrette colour at start up it runs perfect accelerating ok and starting is ok looking at the engine its jumping around like a good un ,I have changed all the filters and put cleaner in the fuel with no change .this week I got a recall notice from the dealer for TSB 2543 Fuel separator ,got any ideas what this is and what it may do or could it have something to do with my prob ,please

Fuel seperator faulty. This is a mechanism which delivers pure fuel to combustion chamber. Rough idling and grey smoky startup is 1 of syntoms of low fuel/high air ratio mixture. Get it check soon.

If not, your next 'shocking' problem is encountering a sudden engine stop while idling.
