HELP ME!!! I've been having this problem off and on for over a year now! My spark plugs misfire in the rain or moist weather!. They miss, and sometimes even cut out completely so I'm running on three cylinders. I've tried cleaning the spark plug wires and have even completely replaced them with a brand new Bosch set 5 months ago! I've heard about dielectric grease. Can I use that? How would I use it? Where would I get it? Any other ideas or tips for fixing/preventingthis??????? Is this common with this engine? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far from what I know, dielectric grease primarily helps in preventing corrosion, it lubricates and aids in keeping out moisture. Wurth and Luberex are few brands I am familiar with.

I assume this is only happening in the wet. You could try spraying the leads with WD40 or equivilent, or the other cause that I have heard of, although I have not experienced it myself, is the crankshaft sensor could be faulty. Best of luck. Chris.

i have a 98 tibb that does exactly that...beginning to think its a grounding problem but am convinced its a valve issue? heh i went through a starter already. i got a flashing CEL with some valve noise at startup. if i get it started and warmed up and dry it runs like a scalded baboon butt . i do know i have a idle sensor CEL. i'll find out what the new one is. i couldnt count the number of flashes. this problem is very annoying, i feel your grief, tiffany. i think i'll start with the grounding system
