Does anyone know what their talking about in the service part owners manual about the gas tank air filter in a 07 Sonata ?Were it is ?How you change it.

I have talked with the people at Metro Hyundai, because my 07 Sonata is also due for the "fuel tank air filter" at 30,000mi. They refer to it as the charcoal air filter, or canister air filter. It cost me $81 after tax. I plan on doing it myself and I talked with a service guy about it. He told me that I take off the right rear tire and the plastic behind that. There is the canister with some vacuum lines and one electrical connection that i have to remove. The filter is on top of the canister I believe. I will try to update everyone after I do it.

Looking at this diagram... The fuel tank air filter is attached to the filler neck. It is number 8.

Sit in the back left hand side hang your head out the car and look under should see the gas filter about same size as the oil filter its inline so it should have pipe in and pipe out 14mm spaner will do and a 10mm to undo the strap bolt holding it to the car , easy to change only a little gas will leak when you undo it. Hope this helps sorry about mm as im from the UK and i think most on the forum are from the USA.[8|]
