Have a 1997 Coupe (1.6 litre) - recently it has been having problems starting - but it appears to be happening at random - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - sometimes it takes a couple of attempts, sometimes it almsot bites, but dies, with just the starter still trying to get it going.. Sometimes it won't start at all, but when you go back to it a few hours later it starts first time. Everything seems to be working - it just doesn't start.
Last week I drove 125 miles to a meeting, meeting lasted 2 hours, car would not start afterwards. Starter worked fine, and it almost kicked in - eventually got it going with a push. Has been fine since then until this morning, when it just wouldn't start at all.
Well looked after, serviced annually.
Any ideas?
