We got a beautiful 07 Sonata in September and went in for our 7500 mile maintenance. I am in sticker shock after that service and looking at the "required" routine maintenance. Every 7500 miles is a $100 to $500 service. I looked on the Hyundai USA web site and there maintenance is reasonable.  Is our dealership trying to hose us? Sure looks like it. Can I get factory mainentance schedule anywhere?? The one from the dealership looks like theirs, not necesssarily from Hyundai.

My goodness....the only thing they should have to change is the motor oil for about $20 to $25....what in the world do they charge to inspect the other things?I have a 2002 Accent and at 7500 miles they should check transmission fluid, brakes, steering system and driveshaft per my maintenance schedule (and thats if it is driven according to severe usage).....that shouldnt be nowhere near $500 just to check in my opinion.Anyplace like Firestone or Meineke will inspect what needs to be inspected per the maintanance schedule and not for $500.Just make sure to get a inspection copy to satisfy the dealership in case warranty work is needed and you have to show proof of sticking with the maintenance schedule.

To keep your warranty just followthe maintaince schedule in the owners manual . The dealers will even try to put nitro in your tires.
I think the 15 K service is about 300 bucks. I will only do what the book says. The rest is a rip off .Don't forget to rotate the tires make them last . My GLS Michelin tires cost about 165 each. I rotate them at least every 8 K miles .Most tire places will do this for about 20 bucks .

We were given several Hyundai booklets but I haven't found the maintenance schedule in the official books. I only schedule is from the dealer, a small 6-8 page booklet of list with estimated price, The price with the mega bucks service list. Yes, they apparently charge to inspect. We paid $97 for oil change and filter , lube and rotate 2 tires plus inspections . Ouch! Which book do you have with the factory schedule?

Well yea....every new car comes with an owner's manual in the dash compartment....you should have gotten one when you bought the car.

I found it!!! The schedule was a separate, booklet tucked behind some others. I will NOT be "hosed" again. Thanks guys, you were very helpful
