I took out only the top of the factory air box. I placed a pipe to lead on the other side of the factory air conduit, and attached the intake to the pipe. I decided to use the cheaper Spectre intake from Autozone just to test it out to see if it would work out, plus if it didnt work then I would not be out of a ton of money. I used an aluminum exhaust covering piece to fab a heat shield (the intake felt cold to the touch after driving a hundred miles with the heat shield in place) Fuel economy is great, I expect better in the future as the engine wears down, almost as good as a hybrid actually. The performance really increased. I live in Southern Ohio near the Great Plains-Appalachian boundary, when I go up the passes on the highway the car just zooms up. The stock Accent zoomed up naturally but this car really Zooms up now.

Hey I have a 05 Accent GS and I bought it in May of 06 and got great mileage (550 km/tank which is about 40 litres) then all of a sudden in Oct 06 it dropped alot to like just under 300 kms. I have been to the dealer several of times and they told me to let the car "break" in well I did that and nothing changes. I have had tons of tests done and there is just no reason why it dropped so much in like 2 weeks, One tank was good, the next horrible
