2001 Keyless Remote Programming

Does anyone know how to program a replacement remote for the 2001 Elantra? I was told that it is possible to do without giving the Dealer his pound of flesh. I have one that came with the car, and one from eBay. I need to program them to the same car. Part # OKA-510T. Thanks

There is only one way to get your remote to work and that is to bring it to the dealership. It takes approx 4 minutes and about $24.00 dollars. Had it done yesterday.I waited there 1.5 hours after I brought it in and f min to fix both remotes. If you have one good remote and one new one they both have to be reprogramed.

That's true for 04 and newer models, but this works for 01-03 models: If you buy a key fob on the internet or whatever, you should be able to code it yourself (01-03 only). Note that even though it says it works for 01-04 models, the 04 is different and requires a tool that only dealers usually have. When that article was written the 04s had just come out and the author did not know of the change.
