I just completed an 825 mile trip with the majority of it on IH 30 & 40 in Texas and Arkansas in 60-75 degree weather and dry road conditions. I had a little over 13 hours driving time, the average speed was 63 mph and the mileage came out to 28.2 mpg.
My wife and I noticed what seemed to be a large number of big rig trucks on the road so we decided to do a count. On a 10 mile stretch of IH 30 I counted large trucks coming towards us and she counted everything else, i.e. cars, pick-ups, SUV's, etc. The count came out 121 big rigs to 81 of everything else!
I still have the lifter ticking after 11,350 miles so I guess I will have the Dealer go in to the engine and fix it once and for all.
