I just bought a 2008 Sonata GLS 4Cyl Manual last night. And i still have my 2006 SantaFe. I will definitely buy another Hyundai. Have had 4 so far, sad thing is, i traded in my 1999 BMW 323i on the sonata..... Such a better car then the BMW( better gas millage, no premium fuel, no uncomfortable leather..cheaper to repair)... IMO.

So as of now, ill buy another...

1999 GL 2.4 sonata, NEVER AGAIN. 151.***KM sitting next to my garage doing nothing, thing cost me close to 800 dollers CAD funds at 141.***KM about 3 months ago, because the balancing belt snaped and wiped out my crank sensor, never mind the other 100's of problems before that such as three altnators, rad, steering pump, mass flow air sensor (may need another one again),MAP sensor, two new coils ect...ect...only had this car for under a year and cost more then what i payed for it..

HOW EVER i will give it this one thou, it was a NICE riding car and well layed out. just mechanicaly i can't handle it ... SORRY GUYS
now she has another problem that i can't for the life of me figure out...

BUT i did get a 2005 ACCENT 5 100 percent base model to replace the sonata..

If you buy a car with 141000 km, any car, you run the risk of buying a car with multiple problems because you have no way of knowing if it was properly maintained.  It's a crap shoot.

when i bought the car i payed 3500 dollers before all the taxes and fun stuff to go with it, when i got it i think there was only 120,*** on it. And your right after doing some research on it come to find out the car was beat to pieces running over rough dirt roads ect.ect...when will people realize that a crusing car is NOT made for rough dirt roads, hints the reason Hyundai came out with the Santa FE and Tucson .

YES!! My new 08 Sonata is my 3rd Hyundai. I had good luck with my 99 Accent and my 04 Elantra. My 2004 Elantra was the best car I ever owned. I put 95,000 miles on it and the only thing that ever broke was headlight bulbs. I still had the original brakes. I would still be driving it if that IDIOT didn't blow through the stop sign. Even then the airbags went off and I didn't get a scratch. I hope to put another 100,000 plus miles on my new Sonata.

YES, ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!

I am on my 3rd Sonata. The 1st one was a 1990 4-cylinder 2.4L, which I drove for 10 years and had 463000 km when I donated it to school. Over the 10 years, I spend +- $ 3500.00 on maintenance (tires, timing belts and servicing mostly by myself).
The 2nd one was a 2000 V6 which I sold in June 07 with 184000 km to get my new 2007 Sonata 4L in July 07. The new one is quicker off the line then the V6, and has a much better fuel consumption (7.6 liter per 100 km (32 mpg US) at 70 mph in summer with 89 octane fuel)).

Since 1989, I've owned 2-Sonatas, 2-Elantras, and an Excel and wouldn't own any other brand.  Toured the Montgomery AL, plant in February and was impressed.  Plan on buying an '09 Tucson at the beginning of '10 model year.  Every one, except my most recently purchased '05 Elentra, have had exterior mirror paint problems which Hyundai HQ wasn't interested in discussing when I contacted them.  Currently, I drive a 189,000+ miles, '99 V-6, GL and the only reacurring problem being that I have to replace the spark plug wires about every 60,000 miles because of spark shortout to the engine.

Not only would I but another Hyundai/Kia vehicle, I'm planning on it.  My '04 Tiburon was my first Hyundai and it was so great I bought a used '06 Tucson and it's great too!  Soon I will replace  the 2002 Chrysler minivan my wife drives with an Kia Sedona or an Entourage.

Not long after I bought my Tiburon I purchased a used '03 Accent for my mother in law.  She loves it and it's been a great car for her.  Just recently she got a CEL for the O2 sensor and at 4 years old and 45K miles the dealer replaced it and the flex pipe in the exhaust for free.

Not long after we got the Accent for my mother in law, her sister purchased a new 2004 Elantra for herself.  Since then she has given that Elantra to her daughter and she purchased a new 2007 Elantra for herself.

My 2007 Sonata SE V6 is my first Hyundai and so far, I love it.  I finally enjoy driving a car again after three years of that awful 2002 Honda Accord.  Honda engines are fine, obviously, but as far as the ride goes, I'll never own a Honda again.  Those seats were like concrete slabs and the shocks/suspension were the worst ever.  The Sonata is closer to the ride my 1991 Cadillac Sedan DeVille was.  Not entirely, but very, very close.  The Sonata rides smooth and quiet, the seats are soft and plush, and the interior room is exactly what I wanted back again.  I love this car.  I plan to pay it off and drive it until it hopefully gets me to 175,000 miles or so.  I see no reason why it won't.  Then again, Chicago winters are very, very hard on any car.  These idiots put too much salt on the road and it tears the underneath of the car all up.  Not cool.
