Hi all,
I bought a mtrix GL 2006 about 1+1/2 years ago. Since the begining, I always hear a strange sound (like tac-tac-tac-..) when starting the car. This happens when the RPM is around 1100-1200. As the car warms, it disappears and the idle sound is nice. Then when I accelerate the RPM to around 1500, the sound comes again and disappears after passing the 2000 RPM limit. I want to the dealer fro the 10,000 KM service and told them about it, but they said it's normal. I was suspicious. I waited another 10,000 Km hoping that this will disappear as the car runs more. However, it was persistent. I went again to them and insisted that something is wrong. They found out that on valve was not returning correctly and replaced it. The sound at startup is still there, but when accelerating it's ALMOST (not completely) gone.
My questions : 1- IS THIS REALLY NORMAL FOR THE MATRIX?
2- WILL THIS SOUND EVER STOP WITHOUT ANY MAINTENCE?
3- HAD ANYBODY THE SAME PROBLEM? HOW WAS IT SOLVED?
