Does any1 know how to disable the seat belt chime in the 06 sonata so it does not affect the air bag? When you unbuckle the seat belt it chimes every 30 seconds or so.

I figured it out for the Elantra; let me check and I'll get back to you.

Bad news, folks- I looked at the schematics and the chime is built into the Body Control Module.  The BCM controls a lot of the functions of the vehicle such as alarm, power windows, lights, etc.  If someone is particularly adventurous, you might try pulling the module and see if you can find the chime on it, but if it's an electronic chime it's probably buried inside somewhere and in finding and disabling it, you may damage some other, more important circuit.

In other words..... I think you gotta get used to the chime.

I spend a lot of time in my car idling in the summer and winter, i just purchased an 07 so I don't know if this will work, but in my 06 after about ten minutes or so the chime stops as long as you don't open the door.

In my 07  with the seatbelt off and the car in park the chime does not come on  so this is changed from the 06.
