Hi everyone, this is my first post. I have a 2001 Accent (automatic) with 63,500 miles on it. I got my tranny replaced at about 45,000 miles, but it has always been sticky and shifts hard off an on. Last week I was driving in the rain and my car bucked, like it froze for a second, a few times and the fuel system light came on. I took it to a local shop and he said they were tranny-related codes, but I took it to the dealer and they said there was nothing wrong. They said I must have spun my tires. But I took it and did doughnuts that night and no light...even though I spun the heck out of it. Any idea what my problem could be? Is the dealer just b-sing me, or is this really a common thing?

My guess is a speed sensor going bad; it may be intermittent at this point.  There are sensors that measure engine speed, transmission speed and wheel speed.  When these go bad, the processor can get confused and through a code.  The transmission related codes should lead the dealer to figure out which sensor is bad.

I think I would go to a different dealer though.  If you got those codes, the prudent thing to do would be to check those sensors.  If your dealer just blew it off, that's not good.
