I am very confused about hyundai.Their commercials always compare their cars to other companies out of its league.I want to know what they are trying to prove, that they are better than BMW or Lexus.I mean,BMW doesn't compare their cars to Hyundai,or Lexus. No disrespect intended, but it makes me mad.

They're trying to imply their vehicles are more upscale than they used to be.  And they are.

In terms of initial quality, they came in third this past year, behind Porsche and Lexus.  I'd say they have a right to compare to them if they want- luxury car quality for economy car prices?  Sounds good to me.

I see what you mean, thanks for the reply. It just gets me that they take their time to downgrade other cars while the other companies don't do the same.Boasting isn't a good thing.

Are you kidding?  Car commercials compare cars to each othe all the time.

I think you're being way too sensitive.

Yes,true.Hyundai, from my view,is implying that their cars are better than high end cars, with little evidence other than traction control, and standard six airbags. They brag about that now while others have had those features standard for years!Maybe I'm being too sensitive, but Hyundai needs to find confidence and make a commercial that sells the car without using another car.

I think all they're trying to do is to get people to start to place Hyundais in a higher class in their minds.  Nissan and Mazda have managed to do this, at times using comparison commercials.
