Hello All, I recently bought and personally installed a Sirius satellite radio and am trying to use it in my Sonata via the FM transmitter. However, I live in Pittsburgh where there is plenty of hills and interference with FM signal. I believe that this issue can be resolved if I use the External FM Extension. This is something that plugs into the back of the Sirius unit, and then you're supposed to route the wire to get the opposite end as close to the car's built-in antenna as possible. The problem is, the 2006 Sonata supposedly has a "element antenna" and it isn't apparent where exactly it is!? I assume that this is like most newer antennas, and it's built into/across the rear windshield so that it almost looks (or blends in) with the stripes of the defogger. If someone can verify (as I called the dealer where I got my car, as well as numerous car audio installation places) this? Also, if anyone currently HAS Sirius working "well" (without a bunch of FM interference) in their Sonata I'd love to know how you did it (where you situated the unit, ran the wires, chose to do a direct connection from Sirius to the car stereo, etc). Thank you all in advance for reading this post and/or for your responses!
