Trakka -> RE: adding an alarm? (6/14/2005 3:57:19 AM)

Hi [8|], It's probably not beyond the capabilities of an enthusiastic methodical person, but as someone who has had professional dealings with insurance investigators, my advice to you would be to have your alarm system installed professionally by a REPUTABLE installer. The reason for that is, in the (hopefully unlikely)event of theft, you, as the installer come under suspicion as someone who may benefit from the theft and having intimate knowledge of how the system was installed will raise a red flag to the investigator. Typical sensors include door, ignition, shock(or tow), battery disconnect. As for mounting, somewhere really bloody difficult to get at, your installer will help there. DO NOT put stickers advertising your alarm type on the car. If the vehicle warrants it, consider a vehicle tracking system. They do work very well and can result in arrests (gotta love that!) Where are you exactly? Cheers, Andrew [;)]
