[:@]First of all I hope that you guys can help me. Long story short, Diagnosis is that I am in need of a Brake Proportioning Valve. I took my car into a mechanic and he changed the master cylinder, now he says that I am in need of the proportioning valve. " Flash back to what happend, Brother changed the back brakes and he could not get any fluid to the back drivers side, brake. I drove the car for a bit then eventually I had no brakes, brakes would pump but then go to the floor. I took the car in and he said it was the master cylinder, Well, he then told me that he thinks that the proportioning valve was bad to. ** which i think it was all a long**[:@] He even told me to drive it, give it a couple days to see if it would blow out. Well low and behold I have no brakes again, and its acting the same way but worse! I am a women I know nothing.. Thanks to these sites I find things out.. Well, Now I am in need of this valve, He says that I can only get it from Hyundai. 195.00. I called him today and told him that I drove the vehicle as he said to do,, and the brakes gave out. An expert told me " he should have never told me to drive that car" which I agree. I do not believe it was the cylinder but I have no proof now. I did not ask for the cylinder back. Can anyone tell me what I should do? Hyundai elentra 2000 , does not have ABS. Cylinders were changed and brakes, now the master cylinder. Can I get this elsewhere on the net?? I can't find it anywhere, and the description that I am giving you of my problem does not sound like the valve? Should this valve have come with the master cylinder?
