Hi guys,

I have bought a 05 Tucson for my wife just yesterday. It has a hard cargo cover in the truck. There is a about 10 inches long tie hanging from the cover. The tie ends with a plastic hook. It all looks genunue Hyundai.

What ios the purpose of the hook? The dealer did not know. After couple munites of trying to hook up the hook to something, he gave up and said that "it's probably just a random hook". %-)

So, If you know what the hook is for - let me know too. Thanks

I don't own a Tuscon but it sounds exactly what my Pontiac Vibe had.  Basically you use it as a hands-free way to hold up hard cargo cover so you can access what's under it.  The hook attaches to the top of the rear hatch opening.

Trace a line vertically along the hatch from where the tie comes out of the cover.  I bet you will find a feature to hook the end of the tie line to so that, as my good friend and longtime associate, NovaResouce says, when you open your hatch the cargo cover is automatically raised.

Surprise! I did not find any place to attach the hook to.

That was my first idea too.

Do you mean the cargo cover to hide items from prying eyes?  The hooks attaches to the rear headrests.

Welcome to the forum.  In the future, you may want to check the original post date of the thread before you post a reply.  This thread is almost a year old.  Tarpan asked his question on 5/25/2007 2:24:53 PM.  I'm sure he's gotten his answer by now. Thanks.

New members can also benefit from learning new informations no matter how old the posts are!  Your comments are rather out of line regarding reading the dates before I posts.  I guess I won't be coming back anytime soon if this is the attitude you show to members.  Good day.

Sorry you feel that way.  I was only trying to offer advice to a newbie.
