I have seen this posted on several sites, but no answer is given...i feel a vibration in the floor, gas pedal, sometimes steering. it feels kind of like a lighter feeling of when you go over the little reflectors in the middle of the road. I have new tires, rotation, and balancing. Had tires checked for any broken belts and don't think it has anything to do with my engine. Does it worse around 45 to 60 mph and you can hear it sometimes, too. Any help would be appreciated. thanks!

Sorry, it is a 03 santa fe with 80,000 miles

The Elantra sometimes has a vibration at 65 mph; I'm not as familiar with Sante Fes.

Possible causes (off the top of my head):
- Wheel imbalance (if you had conventional balancing done, find a shop that does Road Force Variation balancing (Hunter makes RFV balancers; you can find a locations of their machines in the U.S. at http://www.gsp9700.com/).
- Brake rotor imbalance- generally uncommon but occurs on Hyundais sometimes; fix by replacing rotor.
- Driveline imbalance- CV joint, axle, etc.

Maybe by rotating tires and seeing if things change you can isolate it to a specific wheel, or eliminate the wheels as the cause and look for other issues.

Wheel bearings should also be inspected for wear.

A few other ideas:
Sometimes, loose and/or worn suspension components can also cause vibrations, and is something else to consider. As wheels rotate, sometimes the normal vibrations (assuming wheel balance is OK) transfer to loose components and vibrate, and can be felt through the rest of the vehicle.

Another item to consider is a worn/collapsed engine mount. As I am new to Hyundai, I am not familiar with how their engines are mounted, but older Saturn S-series cars were notorius for upper engine mounts collapsing and causing vibrations much like you describe. Weight can be momentarily shifted as you hit a bump, and can change the frequency of the vibration temporarily.

if its all wheel drive check drive shaft-- check ujoints for lose or seized
