Greeting's Fellow Tiburon Owner's,

On July 18th I picked up my brand new Automatic 07 Limited Edition Tiburon and I was as excited as a five year old on Christmas Morning.  Less than 24 hours of having the vehicle in my possession I had an unusual flaw occur.  I experienced a flat spot. I would put my foot on the accelerator and nothing would happen then after a certain point the rev's would shoot right up and the car would sort of hop forward.  I returned it to the dealer and they examined the vehicle and I was informed that the cars Automatic Transmission Sensor was faulty.  They assured me that it was something very minor and they ordered the appropriate part and then the following afternoon I was called to retrieve my car.  Everything was back to normal, I was out randomly driving the car around loving every minute of it. Today I was on my way to Adelaide Pro Sound to have a new stereo system installed but before my arrival I was stationary at some traffic lights and when I went to take off.... the same flat spot had returned.  I was once again bunny hopping the vehicle with the smell that the engine was being hammered. Obviously not good for the car.  (I left my car to have my stereo system installed, they do excellent work so they are very busy and I wasn’t about to cancel my appointment.)  I once again rang the dealership and they instructed me to return the car to them again Monday morning when there service center is open and they will have another look.  I am not angry at the car company it is out of there control and they have been very helpful, I am not mad at the car it is fantastic I love the look and the feel (When is working correctly) and I still very much want the car and have several other small personalised customizations planned for the vehicle in the future.  Now that I have bored everyone with my story..... my question.  I am mechanically illiterate I won't pretend to know everything, I pay a professional for that, has anyone else experienced this Automatic Transmission Sensor Fault and what is it exactly.

Thank you all for your time and patience and my Tiburon and I hope to be a regular at this forum now, I will also try and upload some photos when he returns
