Hi all,

New guy here. A couple of quick questions on a 2000 Elantra fixer upper (even if every mechanic says that it isn't worth fixing due to sentimental value for someone near and dear to me) from a front end collision.

1) Is it true that the air bag, horn and seat belts are all interconnected somehow so that if the air bags have been deployed, the horn doesn't work and you need to replace the airbag and seat belts together? I mean, you'd want to replace those anyway for safety reasons but I wanted to know if this is something that MUST be done together and at the same time instead of a should be at the same time.

2) What is the going rate to replace the airbags on a 2000 Elantra and is the only place qualified to do this a stealer (aka dealer)? I saw that I could buy some off of eBay with the clock spring and module and (yadda yadda yadda) ... but I'm not sure if I bought these that I could get anyone to install them and install them properly.
