Well, went ahead and tried the "fix" that Doohickie posted for the clutch problem on my 05 GT. It wasn't easy for me to start wrenchin on a car with only 9900 miles, but it was a very easy fix and went well. The clutch now acts like a clutch should. Much, much firmer shifts.......nothing like my old 70 Chevelle but nevertheless much better. Hope the little springy wasn't put in there to make up for a weak tranny! Anyhow, a big THANKS! to Doohickie for posting the info. Now , to try and fix the hanging revs.......

OK. The clutch is better, but like I said before, it's not perfect. Run up to redline and shift into second and you still get delayed clutch engagement big time. I think I got it figured out. The culprit is the banjo bolt that attatches the line to the slave cylinder. I tore it apart to check things out again and found the actual orifice in the bolt is pretty tiny. Way too small to allow the rush of fluid for a really quick shift(clutch engagement). So.... I'm gonna drill it out to a respectable size and see what happens. I'll let y'all know how it works. How in the heck anybody builds these cars to race with that clutch setup is beyond me.

Well, I've been on a couple websites about Tibs that have turbo's, highly modified engines and the like and these cars are turning quarter mile times in the 12's. So I guess by racing, that's what I meant. If I ever get my clutch right I may do a few other things and spend a few Saturdays at the drags with the Tiburon instead of my Chevelle. Right now it's outta the question until I get that clutch right.

I drove a 5spd v6 tib today and hated it. I love love love my 6spd. The 6spd just feels better, shifts smoother, does not hang revs, etc. If you want a good performance site, www.ngmhouseofpower.com Custom s/c kits making 240+whp on stock internals, 500+ with built blocks.
