I just purchased a 2003 Tiburon (4cyl) for my son.  Car is in good shape and seems to be functioning well.  But we found the tires the dealer had on this car are pretty worn. Had Continental  ContiTouringContact CH95 on the front nd Continental ContiProContact on the back. 16 inch tires.

I'm not a tire person but wondering what you all suggest would be a good all season tire for this car.  He will be using it to drive to and from college and being in Illinois, we have rain, ice and snow.  Don't want to get something thats loud but want some traction in the rain.

Any suggestions.

Thanks

I replaced the factory tires on my 2004 Tiburon with Kumho Ecsta ASX all-season tires.  They are awesome and much cheaper than the original Michelins.

The Kumho Ecsta AST's and Solus KH16 are also good.

Other ideas: Falken ZE-502 or ZE-512

Thanks. What pressure do you keep them at.    I see recomendations for 32 pounds for Tiburon but the tires usually say 44 max on the side.  One mechanic told me they usually put about 80% of the max so around 36.  Sound right?

tks

The max pressure on the side is just that, the maximum safe pressure ithe tire can be filled to.  If you are getting the factory size tires, go with the factory specs for pressure.  I keep my Tib's tires at 32 psi.
