Okay so the wifes 18' Elantra GT just got out of the dealership after a engine replacement under warranty. She didnt ask the questions I would have and they didnt tell her squat. Anyone know if they use brand new short blocks for this? Do they need any special treatment for a break in period? Is it normal for the mileage to change with this being done? She took it in with over 100k miles and now it says 99k miles Thoughts?

 

Normally , warranty coverage ends at 100K miles.
Somebody did you and your wife a favor saying it was covered under the 100K mile warranty.
She was smart here to say nothing, learn from her !

 

As part of that recall all warranties for Hyundais with that motor were extended to 150K miles.
