1995 Hyundai Elantra Timing Belt Adjustment

Just wondering if someone can explain to me the proper procedure to tighten the timing belt during installation. I have put this car together once and bent 4 valves cause the timing slipped. This time I pulled the engine and want to be sure the belt is tight before it goes back together. Any help to set my mind at ease will be greatly appreciated.

Not too sure with tha model. Generally there is a tension pulley that you can set back but once again I don't know if this applies to you.

RE: 1995 Hyundai Elantra Timing Belt Adjustment

This is for a 1995 Elantra with 1.6L engine. Looks like it requires a special tool to change the tensioner. Not clear on the process of when I need to unload the auto tensioner. Think it is suppose to be after I adjust the tensioner pulley but not really sure. Wish there was a book available for this car but the only one I can find is the factory service manual and I don't want to spend that kind of money. All I need to n=know is the proper process of adjusting the tension on the timing belt and I can take it from there.
