I was in auto accident-car repaired BUT alrm does not set and repair place does not know what else they can do? I guess I will take to a dealer but I rarely get any answers from them. Your thoughts?

If you paid them to repair the car, that is THEIR job- to repair the car. If it isn't right, let THEM take it to a dealer (and let them pay for it!)
That said- have you checked all the door, hood and truckswitches? If you had front end damage especially, make sure the switch on the hood (I think it's along the right fender) is fully engaging. Even on cars that haven't been hit, this switch sometimes isn't pushed in all the way and it messes up the alarm. If they put a new hood on, I think there should be a small rubber bumper that plugs into a hole in the hood that pushes the switch. If that bumper is missing the switch will not work and neither will the alarm. |

Doohickie is 100% correct. If any of the switches for the doors, hatch or hood are off, the alarm will not arm. The hatch switch is in the latch itslef so of the hatch is fully closed, the switch shoudl work. The doors use rubber covered buttons on the door opening frame near the latch. The switch for the hood is on the passenger (right) side of the engine compartment neat the shock tower.

Would this advice apply to a 06 Sonata?
If the switch werent working properly, wouldnt the dash light that indicates an open door be lit up? |
