I brought new coil packs for my 2007 Sonata GLS 2.4L, CF-546 was the part number and it indicates that it fits this year, make and model.
However, the connector on the coil is upside down from the original coil I took out. I can put the wire connector on, but have to flip the connector over to make it fit.
There is a separator on the connector, On the old one it was on the top and the replacement has it on the bottom (see attached pics).
Is it OK to just flip the connector around and attach it to the coil??? New coil Old coil
For what it is worth,
The majority of the time OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts do the job without any problem. We all try to save $$$ when obtaining replacement parts and some aftermarket parts , not OEM, work just fine. Unfortunately,,,,,,,,,,,some are produced by shady manufacturers and claim to fit everything. If you purchased the parts locally , not too much problem returning them , except electrical parts. They can look OK and still be defective. From experience, if possible, always try to purchase OEM parts, you might pay a little more, but there is a reason, they fit AND work, usually ! OEM parts purchased on line will prevent wrong parts and can save some $$$.
