2020 Sonata Fuel Tank Internal Collar
My 2020 Sonata Limited uses an internal collar just inside the fuel filler tube to reduce the tube opening to the California unleaded fuel nozzle size of .85". The problem is that this collar is not attached to the filler tube and remains in place only by virtue of the friction of the collar on the sides of the tube. If a gas fuel nozzle or even a finger pushes it down the neck too far it becomes impossible to fuel the car, because the angle of the opening changes as the collar is pushed farther down the tube. The Hyundai service dealer advises me that this is a standard design for the car. It's such a potential problem that I don't believe it. What's. your experience?
