Accent Not Starting

Hi,

I have 2000 model Accent and some time back it shows starting problem after driving >10KM and stop the engine it will not start again. It cranks but not starting. Then i have change the fuel pumb fuse with the Horn fuse, pressed spark plug andsome pressing in the fuses. Then it startes like normal. Now i faced this 3 times. Its only showing when i have made some KMdirve then stop the engine(Not every time). Some times it shows the problem. Even i didn't do anything it will start after 2-3 hours. Can any one tell what is the problem.

Thanks

RE: Accent Not Starting

I wuold suspect a fuel vapor lock. Gasoline in fuel rail becoming hot enough to boil and turn to vapor. After cool down it condenses back to normal.
Could have something to do with fuel vapor system

Yours could be a number of problems, bu my first suspicion would be a failing crank position sensor. This seems to be a fairly common issue with Accents. The symptom where the engine has to cool down after a warm shut down in order to start is consistent with the crank sensor problem. Goto:

for a thread by another forum member with a similar problem. You need to have a code scanner connected to the car to search for error codes stored in the engine control module (the main computer controlling engine functions). Expect to find either a P0335 or P0336 error code. If not the crank position sensor, the scanner should reveal error codes relavant to your problem.
