aftermarket cd installlation
 

hello there i hav e a 2004 hyundai accent and i have an aftermarket cd player i would like to put in does anyone know how to take the old one out like is because i know there is a certain way to take the dash apart and stuff thanx.

i did this job myself shortly after x-mas - got a new deck! yay! anyhow its not a hard job at all, but what i'd recommend is to get one of the adapters to go with it. its just one of those plastic connectors like you see above. that way you can connect all the wires ahead of time and its just plug in when you get it apart. i'd highly recommend you solder all wires and insulate the joints. my method was to solder, cover with liquid electrical tape and then heat shrink tubing.

for the bottom screws they're right behind the cupholders if you have them there. just let them out half way and you'll see.

also, some of the angled screwdrivers are REALLY helpful.

theres a couple screws to get the hvac knobs off and they're a bit of a bitch. i found i couldn't disconnect them easily because two of them use steel cables that are fastened tight.
