electrical problem
 
My friend has connected his battery the wrong way round on his Hyundai. There was a spark, he turned the battery round but nowall the electrics wont work and the car wont start. He wants my help . Where do I start?

That's one of the worst things to do to a Hyundai. You don't say what model or year, but generally ehere are two fuse boxes, one in the passenger compartment and one in the engine compartment. Check both for burnt fuses.

If he's lucky, that's all it is. But this kind of thing often fries the ETACS, the box that controls a lot of the car's functions including the alarm, power windows, etc., and/or the PCM (powertrain control module), which is basically the engine control unit. If either of those is fried, the best bet is to try to get a new one at a junk yard.

What model and year is the car? Knowing that might help debug this.

It is a LANTRA.Now fixed, he had just blown the 60a fuse near battery. Very lucky.
