HELP ASAP! on breaks

i own a hyundai tuson elite s AWD 2006 model and was woundering on how lond do the breaks pads and disks last , i had the pads replaced and disks machined at 60.000 klm now 20,000 later after the job the breaks are shuttering again and told the pads and disks need machining again , is that normal for this model the pads and disks to only last 20 to 25,000 klm how long should they last, i dont live in a hilly area, and use the gears more comming down larger hills

Sorry to pick nits but they are the brakes, not breaks. And they are discs, not disks (more correctly called rotors).

How long brakes last depend on the quality of the pads, the amount of use and the style of the driver. The could last 100K miles if all you did was drive on the highway where you rarely use the brakes or they could only last 20k miles if you live in a very hilly city where you are constantly on the brakes. My guess your hilly locale has something to do with the pads wearing out quickly.

Also, NEVER machine rotors. It only removes material and makes them more likely to warp. Rotors are cheap so ALWAYS replace rotors if they are warped or too thin. NEVER use used pads on new rotors. Always replace the pads when replacing the rotors.

My advice, replace the pads and rotors with new quality parts.
