Hyundai 2007 Sonata
I had a problem while driving on the hi-way the other night. I was doing about 65 Miles per hour and suddenly my car lost all gas power. The ESC light was on and the check engine light was on. I coasted off to the side of the road and shut it off. I waited a few minutes and tried to start the engine. It started up and I was able to get home. I brought it in for service. My question is what could have gone wrong ? It never happened before. Is this going to happen again? I only have 21,300 miles on the car? My wife is afraid to drive the car now. Do you know of any recall on this problem ? Frank V.
3.3 V6 ???
Common problem.... likely fin 2135, 2106, and 1295 as a 3 code set...
Throttle Position Sensor -> updated part and reprogram PCM with "3.3 NF ECM UPDATE K-LINE" ... it's the most recent upgrade to be used with the TPS replacement...
Run all the modules in the "FAULT CODE SEARCH" tab and see who all has codes stored.....

re: the ESC light. Did you turn it off manually? That could account for the light. (left side dash rocker switch - you know where). If it was actually a failure of the system, there should be some kind of electronic record that can be read by the scan tool.
re: the check engine light. That could be scary. There are instructions in the manual about limping it home if this happens. Been my experience, it could be anything from a misfire, faulty O2 sensor or fuel delivery problem. Like I said before though, your car is under warranty. Use it.
Hope you find the problem soon.
