Hyundai lantra rear fog light removal.

Hi, new member here.

I need to remove one of the rear fog lights from my Hyundai Lantra estate 2000 because someone bumped it and severed the cable to the light.

I can't see any way of removing the lamp without removing the bumper cover.

Can anyone help please?

Removing Elantra rear bumper.

Well I worked it out for myself so here's what to do:

Lift spare wheel boot cover and disconnect the two fog light connectors.

Jack up and remove a wheel and remove the small arch liner by removing three bolts and the two plastic rivets, Push the pin in the middle of the rivet right through the centre and save it for the reassembly.

Remove the bolt at the point of the bumper that is exposed by the arch liner.

Do the same on the other side.

Remove the two compartment covers inside the boot on the left and right and remove the two bolts and the one nut from the left side. The nut is a bit awkward so don;t drop it.

Remove the washer bottle and connector and remove the two bolts and one nut.

Remove the four plastic fasteners on the top of the bumper by carefully unscrewing the plastic screws and then lifting the remaining part with a screwdriver under the edge.

Do the same to the four fasteners in the same position under the bumper.

Remove the rear light clusters by the two Phillips screws and remove the fasteners that are then exposed.

Carefully pull the pointed ends of the bumper sideways to clear the fitting and pull the bumper rearwards taking care to release the fog light leads through the grommets.

When reassemling, put a bolt each side in the compartments back loosely, just to steady things.
