keyless remote unlocking problems

Having trouble with unlocking from the remote, lights flash but doors wont unlock,I can hear the relay inside the car clicking, probably to send power to the actuaters but they dont work. They do work manually with the door button and the remote works for locking, any suggestions?

Having the same problem on an 02 Sonata. Except the interior lock button will lock all doors but will not unlock. Does the interior button / switch contain a reciever module for the remote?

RE: keyless remote unlocking problems

I had the same problem with my 2002 sonata. I had to replace the door lock
relay. There are 2 relays on the backside of the fuse panel (below steering
wheel). They are about an inch or so long and are black and have 3 prongs on one
side & 2 on the other.

The way I initially tested it was to switch the 2 relays because they are the
same (Info on relays is HMC DECO 95225-38300). After switching them, the unlock
function worked on the remote but the lock did not. After replacing the bad
relay, both worked.

Good luck.

Similar Problem

Could not lock my car. Located relay's on the BACK of fuse panel and replaced them. Tip: the reasons I have for replacing both is; 1. things seem to go in 2's on this car. Mostly headlights and lamps. One goes out then the other..... 2. where the relays are is a pain to reach if you have big hands like me. I already had to remove the lower dash ....might as well get both replaced. It was only a few dollars more.

Thanks to MILLER1 for your post. Finally found the relays because of your post. Appreciate it.
