My daughter overfilled the oil in her Excel (1995) by about 1.25 lts and ran it this way for about 5 days, now her automatic transmission is is not working in drive , the engine rev's but the car barely moves. Did the oil overfill cause this condition ? or is it unrelated
Removing the excess oil did not help

Unrelated. Get the trans looked at.

 

I had the same thing happen with my 2005 hyundai accent which I overfilled by .5 L. It does not seem to be coincidence at all.
