Default Rear Brake Drum Spindle Nut Torque

Help

I have a 2003 elantra and will be doing the rear brake shoes this week. I believe there is a spindle nut which is staked onto the spindle after tightening. I believe this nut (and washer)has to be removed before the drum is removed.

Question: What is the torque that the new nut must be tightened too?

Also, Is the Spindle Nut the same thing as the Hub Nut? or is that something different?

thanks

Lee

Default RE: Rear Brake Drum Spindle Nut Torque

See the torque numbers in parentheses. Second number is foot-lbs. Old school method suggest you rotate the drum as you tighten the flair nut. If the drum starts to stiffen up too much, back off and lock the nut.
