RE: spark plug gap? 99 elantra
the plugs are normally set, but to make sure, set them to 1.1mm (0.04 in)
best resule with Hyundays are NGK plugs, IRIDIUM ones if you want the best. Go to www.ngk.com for the right plug for your car. |

Do some read-up at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spark_plug
Also, HowStuffWorks.com is a tremendous place to find lots of info about Automotive, among other things! To get more power, i.e. more torque and fuel savings, there are several available approaches in the car accessories markets. 1. Magnet to align the Hydrogen and Carbon Molecules to make burning easier 2. Iridium spark plugs to get more spark out in the combustion chamber 3. Special Spark Plug cables that are lower in resistance from Coil to Spark Plug 4 ylone, Cold air intake, etc, etc 5. others attack directly at the Ignition system to produce consistent and bigger spark - check out Spark Optimizer, works wonder on Hyundai and many other makes. - Many cars in Singapore have it installed with wonderful testimonies. Hope this help! Have a great day...unicc |

you dont gap platinum plugs! i would highly recommend against them. use ngk or nippendenso only. been 7 years with Hyundai and cant count how many times Bosch platinum plugs casue misfires!

I run platinum fours in my accent, no gap necessary and they have been doing great.
