ticking sound in my 06 Azera
I have 65k miles on my Azera. Lately, when I start it up, and its cold, it makes a ticking sound when in 1st gear. Does not seem to lose power.....just an annoying sound. Also, when I start the car engine, it idols very loud and at high RPM's for a brief time......and then it comes back to a proper idol. Any suggestions on how to eliminate these issues.
Thanks!! |
RE: ticking sound in my 06 Azera
Could be lots of things. First of all, it's cold. If it only does it in first gear, then sounds like a trans problem. Did you do the scheduled maintainence trans flush?

RE: ticking sound in my 06 Azera
I just had a trans flush @ Jiffy Lube. To be more specific, It sounds like when as a kid, when we would put baseball cards clipped on to our bicycle so it would make that noise in the spokes.......when I get up to about 25 mph.....the sound goes away......only can hear it at very slow speeds.

Oh, Jiffy lube. Yeah, that might be the problem. Jiffy lube will do a flush with Dextron III, which is supposed to be universal. But Hyundai spec fluid is what is specified...Diamond ATF SP ??? or SK ATF SP ???. Some people say it's real bad to use Dextron III, and I think it voids the warranty. Here's the spec sheet and Technical Service Bullitin:

RE: ticking sound in my 06 Azera
Is this service (wheel plate replacement) covered under warranty?

RE: ticking sound in my 06 Azera
Sounds like it, if you are the original owner. Supposed to be 10 yr/100k miles. Don't tell them you went to Jiffy lube.
