My 2005 Santa Fe 3.5 V-6 starts right up and runs fine. The problem is after driving a few miles when I shut it off I have a hard time restarting often having to try several times and it often has a very strong fuel smell. I replaced the fuel purge valve recently but that had no effect. I was involved in a situation not long ago where I had to drive through a small ditch that pitched the car somewhat violently and ever since it takes gas very slowly when I fill up. Any suggestions?

 

Might be a good idea to do a thorough check under the vehicle. Look for dented , squeezed lines mud accumulation where lines start and end.

You might find a fuel line with problems too.. Do a good visual inspection.
