Default warranty for front wheel bearing

A very cool site...I own a 2001 Tiburon, and LOVE IT!! Suits me great...I went to have tires put on, and was told one of my wheel bearings in the front is warn. I have the 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty on it. I currently have 68,000 miles on it. He said it may be covered on this warranty, but could not tell me for sure. He DID, of course, say he could do the work for a few hundred dollars. PRICE SHOCK!!

Can anyone tell me if the wheel bearing would be covered under the standard 100,000 mile bumper to bumper??

Jay,
Front bearings fall under wear & tear. With your vehicle at 100K miles, the dealer will tell you thats normal wear and you'll be responsible for the repair if required. Good Luck,

What vehicle is this diagram for? My fiance"s 99 Tiburon is making a grinding noise in the right front, could it be a wheel bearing? If this diagram works great, if not could someone show me what it looks like since they don't make a Haynes or Chiltons manual for her car.

Thanks

Pretty fair chance you have bad bearings, as this is a known problem with Hyundais of the period.

Unfortunately, it's not so easy a job to replace the wheel bearings as the previous posters would have you believe. Yes, the diagram provided is also the same for the 99 Tiburon. The problem is you have to have the bearing pressed out by the machine shop (unless you have a machine press.)

That diagram is not for the Tucson. The Tucson is totally different. This is the Tucson:
