[SOLVED] 03 4dr has power lock and dome lite problems
 

UPDATED 10-8-2007: The fix for both of these problems was a loose, very loose 10A fuse for the 'room' or domelite in the box under the hood.
The dome lite came on with the door open, all the locks operate from outside the car with key, the trip odometer keeps miles now, the trunk lite now works and the key reminder chime now works. Done!- CC

Have a 2003 accent 4dr that I just got and it has some minor electrical problems.
I am handy with wiring diagrams and hunting this kind of stuff down so any help is appreciated !!

1. The power locks work only intermittently (more times not at all) when you try to open the drivers side door
with key. Once inside, and with the car started, the power locks work fine on interior driver and passenger side controls.
They do not work from inside car when the car is turned off.

2. The dome light does not work. The bulb is tested good. When the car is running, and the dome light switch is in the OFF or full ON
position, the trunk open light on dash comes on???? If I put the switch in the middle (to go on when door is opened) this sympton goes away but the
dome lite still never lites.

Only once or twice did the power locks work properly and the dome lite come on when I got in the car.

These are minor annoyances that seem to be related some how. If anyones has any directions to look, I am listening!!

Seems like a ground problem???

All else with the car is flawless, no other strange behaviours!
